In this post I will go over two of the prescribed titles that I have narrowed down from the list of the prescribed titles.
First topic:
"when the only tool you have is a hammer, alll problems begin to resemble nails" (Abraham Maslow), How might this apply to ways of knowing, as tools in the pursuit of knowledge?
Why I chose this topic :
* I have chosen this topic because It allows me to explore different viewpoints and how such viewpoints affect the perception of the problems,
What is it about?
Basically what this question is asking is that how one's existing knowledge and information can affect their perception of one's problems and how they will go on to tackle it.
My experiences towards this question?
A large deal of problems have arisen as I have gone through different stages of my life and each problem has been of different nature, and at the same time different parts of my family have treated them VERY differently. The groups that have differing view points are as follows: My aunt and her family are all doctors while my uncles are engineers. my father is a businessman and my mother used to be very involved in the world of business in her past life. And then there is my grandmother whp os more of a traditional person.
AOKs:
- history
- natural sciences
- human sciences
WOKs:
- sense perception
- reason
- emotion
Second Topic:
“That which is accepted as knowledge today is sometimes discarded tomorrow.” Consider knowledge issues raised by this statement in two areas of knowledge. Why I chose this topic:
I chose this topic mainly because it allows to see how knowledge has changed and how knowledge of some fields seems to have been discarded more than other fields. Like math compared to natural sciences and human sciences.
What is it about ?
The question is asking us to analyze and see how knowledge has been discarded / changed in two different AOKs and compare them and to look at the implications of such changes.
My experiences towards this question?
The textbooks we had in Iran went through a radical change when I was entering 6th grade, when compared to one another changes in several subjects were much less than the others.
AOKs:

WOKs:
